Some 'Need to Knows' About This Course

  • LENGTH AND TIMING

The course length is approximately 7.0 hours in length. Participation for the entire day is required to receive a certificate of completion.

  • METHOD OF DELIVERY

This course is delivered with synchronous Instructor led content via Zoom video conferencing. You will need to ensure you are in an area where you can turn your camera on and be able to contribute throughout the day.

  • MAXIMUM NUMBERS

Each online workshop is limited to 12 participants, with two instructors. This helps to create a safe and friendly learning environment where participants can fully participate by scoring and commenting on images when asked to do so.

  • TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Use of a cellphone is NOT recommended as images cannot be properly viewed for judging on a small screen. The minimum recommended screen size is 17" which is in line with the CAPA Online Technical Viewing Requirements. If possible, your monitor should be calibrated. Participants require a working microphone and should have a webcam, as being able to see the person who is talking adds greatly to the workshop experience.

  • SCHEDULING

To accommodate people from across Canada, English courses will alternate between the Central Time Zone and Eastern Time Zone, while French courses will be held in the Eastern Time Zone. Multiple Judging Practice Workshops will be held throughout the year.
